SoapBox's last big shindig of the year, a proper good old fashioned kness up so dancing shoes at the ready... FUNK // REGGAE // INDIE // DUB // JAM // SKANK // ROCKNROLL 7pm till 2am :: LAST BIG SOAPBOX OF 2012 so expect MAYHEM SOLKO :: Seven piece fusion dub-rock band Solko have created a ripple in East Anglia using their phenomenal live energy and powerfully groove-driven writing. The past 12 months saw them invited by BBC Introducing to Abbey Road Studios as part of their Musician's Masterclass. They've also enjoyed a host of festivals — including a hugely successful and much skanked at Liverpool Sound City slot; the boys were even encored to play a second set to finish the night off. http://www.solko.co.uk/ TALLOWAH :: Roots, Reggae and Ska 8 piece from Southend on Sea, signed to Goldmaster Records. A huge hit of the Independent Festival Circuit in 2012 this talented bunch arequite something to behold. Get ready to skank mo fo. http://www.facebook.com/tallowahuk?fref=ts LEMON PARTY :: Mad Essex 4 piece proudly strutting their funky, upbeat, crazy brand of indie pop rock. I hear they may be in disguise as Elves so Kids, be nice to Santa, or this is what you'll get... http://www.facebook.com/Lemonpartytheband?ref=ts&fref=ts THE AURORA :: 6 piece band from the heart of Suffolk writing huge melodic riffs with tasty breakdowns and cheeky hook-lines with a big electro/dance input,. They love what they do and work hard, and know how to have fun whilst doing so. A band you'll never forget with a great sense of humour and incredible tunes. http://www.facebook.com/theaurorauk?fref=ts BESSIE TURNER :: Ipswich Songbird Bessie Turner is representing the ladies in this live line-up, as only she can. A stunning vocalist compared to Joanna Newsom, with gorgeoues delicate finger picking and a cheeky demeanour. Lyrically strong, complex and uncompormising this talented young lady is one of my all time favourite singer songwriters, come see why. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bessie-Turner/303769032977175?fref=ts DJ HEKA :: Aka Daniel J Harvey aka Dan Dan the Music Man. Don't be fooled by his young face, this extraordinary music fan is one of the most knowledgeable people I know. He runs a Radio Show, teaches multi media projects and writes incredible articles for Seven Shades Of Black. Watch out for his latest project Soundisiak, coming to Ipswich in 2013. Intelligent events for proper music fans. ILL NA NA'S :: Two awesome lady vinyl deejays playing a whole host of brilliant tunes from their vast collections spanning decades. They run one of my favourite deejay nights in Ipswich so its a great pleasure to welcome them here tonight. http://www.facebook.com/groups/219896438099818/ Doors at 7pm, live music, deejays, games, prizes, fun and shenanigans of the seasonal kind.
