Welcome to the SoapBox Stage at FolkEast 2016.
SoapBox is one of six stages at FolkEast Festival. We host three days of original music, poetry, spoken word, storytelling and entertainment - all powered by the sun. 95% of our line-up is locally sourced and we love giving a platform to new and established artists alike so expect some artists you know, and some who are just starting out. We also have a daily Open Mic for all you lovely folks to join the family, and on Sunday a special under18's Open Mic, when we hand the stage over the the kids!
We handmake all of our decor from recycled materials and create a huge willow tunnel as the entrance, made with locally and sustainably sourced wood. This year, for the first time the SoapBox stage will be expanding into the woods. This will be where our funky and affordable pop-up bar will now be based. At only £3 a pint its cheaper than most pubs across the county! We have spent hours working on some beautiful art installations which will be nestled amongst the trees, made with love by the SoapBox Creative Team. We also have a wonderful vegetarian caterer DragonJaks who will keep your bellies full, and the lovely people from Albion Kids will be providing activities for the young'uns too.
