The launch of our new spoken word poetry club

SoapBox presents Hollie McNish.

An evening of poetry, spoken word and music, with special guest Hollie McNish. SoapBox will host the best spoken word poets in the UK on the last Wednesday of the month, at the John Peel Centre in Suffolk, throughout 2016.

Hollie is an award winning poet, feminist, mother and social commentator with a remarkable Youtube following, in the millions. 'Winner of the 2015 Arts Foundation award for Spoken Word, she can deliver poems on tricky topical issues - breastfeeding or the image of women in the media - alongside tender accounts of family life - care homes, bungalows and biscuits tins - with an utterly endearing warmth.' - Aldeburgh Poetry Festival

With support from poets Andy Bennett and Christine York, and musician Tilly Dalglish.

Tickets are £4 concessions, £6 in advance, or £8 on the door, if available. Advance purchase recommended as we expect a high demand for this event.

Adult content/language warning - 14yrs+ recommended. Licensed bar on site. Doors open at 7.30pm, finished by 11pm.
