In previous years we have taken a break in August, but, for a special treat this year we'll be hosting a Summer Words & Verses, in the garden at The Spread Eagle. Please note, we will start at 6pm and finish at 9pm (as its outside, and its just nice to be nice to your neighbours).

Usual wordy shenanigans, poetry, spoken word, storytelling, comedy, rap and more. Roughly 5 minutes each (though we'll go round again if there is space/time). Sign up on the day, or email tobook a spot if you're travelling or it helps you feel comfortable. getonthesoapbox@hotmail.co.uk

Words & Verses is our longest running event, starting in 2012 at The Spread Eagle and taking place monthly, it was Ipswich's first dedicated & regular spoken word open mic, rapidly approaching our 100th edition! We are delighted that W&V is no longer the only poetry event in town, and adore how vibrant our local spoken word community is. 

Amy Wragg is trained in safeguarding, has a full DBS, and is insured as an artist to deliver work.
