I am a Suffolk poet that has always been fascinated with nature, animals and the ever-changing landscape. Free-verse poems reflect the human mind in an accessible way, though recent experiments with stricter rhyme schemes show I am still learning, still finding my own style. I am a budding poet, but that doesn’t stop me from performing my poems to the public. After a recent break from performing to focus on studying and writing new material, I am excited to get back into the performance aspect of poetry ready for the wonderful festival season.
Jayd has been writing for almost a decade but has only recently worked her way into Suffolk's spoken word and performing community. She has some previous publications to boast, including two short stories published in 2013 and 2014 respectively. However, her poem Astronomy is appearing in The HFC's art and literary journal, in their March issue. Another poem is also being shortlisted for the Student New Angle Prize in Ipswich.
Jayd has taken part in open mics all over Suffolk and Norfolk, at venues such as The Seagull Theatre, The Birdcage, Cult Student Bar, and most notably, at Aldeburgh Poetry Festival.
